Ireland to Scotland Guided-Tour Itinerary

Countdown to Ireland!








Day 1 – Dublin, Ireland – Tour Begins

Welcome to Dublin, Ireland’s cosmopolitan capital. Tonight is at your leisure to enjoy Dublin. Perhaps you will partake in a local pub crawl or participate in a whiskey tasting.
Hotel: Croke Park Hotel, Dublin

Day 2 – Dublin

Today, it’s your choice! Choose to spend your day at leisure -OR- choose a walking tour of the city’s historic center and meander its winding streets as you follow the footsteps of the Vikings. This evening we put a modern twist on Irish cuisine during a cooking class at one of Dublin’s premier culinary institutions. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. (B, D)

Day 3 – Dublin, Irish National Stud, Limerick

Take to Ireland’s country roads. Tour the Irish National Stud, an area of incredible natural beauty and home to some of the world’s most magnificent horses and gardens. Upon arrival in Limerick, experience the customs and daily life of a traditional Irish family during a memorable visit to their Dairy Farm, plus savor homemade scones and tea. Day 4 – Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Kinsale

Embark on a panoramic city tour of Limerick that showcases King John’s Castle and the Treaty Stone. Delve into the fascinating history of the “city of violated treaty.” This afternoon brings you to the dramatic, 700-foot-high Cliffs of Moher for cinematic views of the mighty Atlantic. Pass through the windswept, limestone landscape of the Burren, known for its stark beauty and Neolithic tombs. Today breakfast will be included. (B) Hotel: Trident Hotel, Kinsale

Day 5 – Kinsale, Blarney, Kinsale

Today, live the legend. The story goes that those who kiss the Blarney Stone gain the gift of eloquence. This morning, give it a shot at historic Blarney Castle. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. (B, D)

Day 6 – Kinsale

Spend a leisurely day in Kinsale and enjoy its many galleries, shops and cafes. Perhaps you will make a visit to Blacks Brewery or Beer, Gin and Whiskey. Today breakfast will be included. (B)

Day 7 – Kinsale, Tullamore/Kilbeggan, Kingscourt

You don’t have to be a connoisseur to appreciate the old-world heritage of Ireland’s whiskey territory. Your journey brings you to Tullamore and Kilbeggan in the heart of Ireland, where a superb distillery brings whiskey craftsmanship to life and gives you a taste of the final product. Top your day off with an overnight stay on the regal grounds of Cabra Castle. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.(B,D) Hotel: Cabra Castle, Kingscourt

Day 8 – Kingscourt, Dublin, Ruthin Castle

Ferry across the Irish Sea to Holyhead, Wales. As you traverse northern Wales, pass Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the town with the longest name in the world. Make a stop at majestic Caernarfon castle where Charles was crowned Prince of Wales. Then, continue through the Welsh countryside and discover some of the most magnificent scenery in all of Britain. Day 9 – Ruthin Castle, Lake District, Gretna Green, Scotland, Edinburgh

Travel north into England’s scenic Lake District. Here you’ll feel the inspirational appeal of the region’s quintessential English villages, Lake Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere. Crossing into Scotland, stop in the town of Gretna Green where generations of runaway couples eloped. Continue to Edinburgh, Scotland’s majestic capital city. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. (B, D) Hotel: Dalmahoy Hotel & Suites, Edinburgh 

Day 10 – Edinburgh

Today it’s your choice! Come to know this regal city during a locally guided panoramic city coach tour -OR- for a different perspective, join a local expert and explore the city by foot. Both tours include a visit to Edinburgh Castle, home of the Scottish Crown Jewels, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh and former home of Mary, Queen of Scots. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the city independently. Tonight, say farewell to your fellow travelers during a fun filled Scotish evening and toast to the incredible memories made. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. (B,D)

Day 11 – Edinburgh, Tour Ends

Your journey through Ireland, England and Scotland comes to a close. Today breakfast will be included. (B)

The services of a professional, multilingual Tour Director will be provided throughout.


Motor coaches are fully air-conditioned everywhere while touring. No use of the motor coach other than as specified in the itinerary.


Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary with inside visits (including admission charges) and special features shown in UPPER CASE in the tour description. Sightseeing with local guides where applicable.


Please note, sometimes things happen and we have to change hotels. Rest assured we will do our best to get you into similar accommodations.


Not Included on Your Ireland to Scotland Vacation Package


Airfare, Airport taxes (where applicable), excess baggage, meals not included in attached itinerary, all items of a personal nature such as laundry, cleaning, telephone, internet, or fax expenses, beverages including tea and coffee (except at breakfast and at hotel dinners), wines, liquors, soft drinks, etc. Gratuities for the Tour Director, motor coach driver and local guides are not included and can be added for the entire group at your request. In some cases, gratuities for local guides cannot be included and must be paid while on tour. Airfare may be arranged with Bucket List Travel Tours.


Passports must comply with immigration regulations.  Regulations may include, but are not limited to the following: must have at least 2 blank pages when entering a country and must have no less than 6 months before expiring. It is the responsibility of the traveler to check visa requirements and obtain visa(s).  Bucket List Travel Tours preferred visa provider is GenVisa.
