Day 1 – Arrive in Milan

Welcome to Italy! Make your way to your Milan hotel. This evening enjoy an evening of leisure. Your hotel will be the Storhotel Ritz or similar.

Day 2 – Milan – Parma

Follow your Local Guide for a walking tour to visit the PIAZZA DUOMO with its magnificent gothic cathedral and the glass-domed GALLERIA. Enjoy time on your own for lunch and shopping. Later, travel to the Parma area to immerse yourself in Old World charm as you experience unsurpassed flavors during a unique dinner excursion in the peaceful Italian countryside to an atmospheric restaurant in an old farmhouse. Here, an expert chef will introduce you to the fine art of pasta-making, and will teach you how to make traditional tortelli. Then, sample authentic local dishes, including cured meats and Parma ham, two types of pasta, and dessert. An unforgettable experience! (Breakfast, Dinner) Your Hotel will be the Starhotel Du Par or Simular.

Day 3 – Parma Excursion to Maranello

Your guided sightseeing of Parma will focus on the romanesque cathedral, the bell tower, and the octagonal baptistry, made of pink Verona marble. Then we travel to Maranello, the birthplace of the Ferrari automobile, for a visit to the FERRARI MUSEUM. Return to the Parma area for at PARMESAN CHEESE TASTING before visiting the 13th-century MONTECHIARUGOLO CASTLE, a fortress rising on a slope above the Enza River. It was taken over by the Torelli family, feudal lords of Montechiarugolo, beginning in 1406 and reconstructed in the 15th and 16th centuries. Since the execution of Pio Torelli in 1612, the castle passed through the hands of the ducal dynasties and has belonged to the Marchi family since the early 1800s. Legend has it that the ghost of a Torelli noblewoman, who met with an untimely death, haunts the castle on occasion. Dinner will be on your own this evening at a local restaurant with regional specialties. (Breakfast)

 

Day 4 – Parma — Arma — Modena — Bologna — Florence

Depart Parma for Florence, with stops in both Modena and Bologna. In Modena enjoy a BALSAMIC VINEGAR TASTING, and learn all about this traditional Italian product. From Modena visit the MUSEO DUCATI in Bologna for a guided tour of the factory and museum. Continue on to Florence the, “Cradle of the Renaissance” for an evening at your leisure. (Breakfast) Your hotel will be the Starhotel Michelangelo or simular.

Day 5 – Florence, Excursion to Chianti

Meet your Local Guide, and visit the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS with Michelangelo’s celebrated David. Continue your walking tour through the historic center and stand in awe in front of the magnificent cathedral, admire Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistry’s heavy bronze “Gates of Paradise,” and sculpture-studded SIGNORIA SQUARE. You will have free time for shopping and lunch. Later, get ready to have your passion for cooking ignited on this unique CULINARY ADVENTURE to a Tuscan estate and villa. Return to Florence. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 6 – Florence — Cinque Terre — Rapallo

A scenic day! Drive to La Spezia on the Mediterranean Coast for an exciting excursion to CINQUE TERRE, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including a BOAT RIDE (weather permitting) with a Local Guide. The name dates back to the 15th century and is derived from five medieval little villages standing on stony spurs along five miles of the rocky coastline: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso. From here, enjoy a TRAIN RIDE to the beautiful seaside resort of Rapallo. (Breakfast) Your hotel will be GH Bristol or Simular

Day 7 – Rapallo

Enjoy a day of leisure to explore the local area. Your Tour Director will have excellent suggestions on how to make the most of your day, such as a day trip to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Genoa. (Breakfast)

Day 8 – Rapallo — Gabiano — Turin

Enter the Langhe area and drive through the vineyards to Gabiano, where a WINE TASTING, followed by lunch, awaits at Castello di Gabiano. Continue to Turin, capital of Piedmont and birthplace of the Fiat automobile. This evening enjoy an orientation of the beautiful town of Turin. It will show its best when all the lights will shine into the dark. (Breakfast) Your hotel will be Starhotel Turin or Simular

Day 9 – Turin

Admire the amazing 548-foot-high Mole Antonelliana, symbol of Turin, during your guided sightseeing, and walk through the historic center to visit the CATHEDRAL that houses the Holy Shroud. After lunch on your own, immerse yourself in the royal wonders of Turin and experience the unique tastes of the Piedmont region on this marvelous guided excursion. Led by an expert guide, begin with an inside visit of the Royal Palace, built by the House of Savoy in the 16th century; the visit includes the STATE APARTMENTS, the ARMOURY and the HOLY SHROUD CHAPEL. Then, learn how Turin has been famous since the 18th century for its patisserie, confectionery, and chocolate treats as you step into the historic PALAZZO MADAMA’S ELEGANT CAFÉ for an authentic Merenda Reale (hot chocolate and decadent biscuits) (Breakfast)

Day 10 – Turin — Milan

After breakfast, return to Milan to tour SANTA MARIA DELLE GRAZIE to view the Leonardo Di Vinci painting of the Las Supper. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner a few steps from the magnificent Duomo! Taste a three course dinner with the chance to savour the famous “risotto with ossobuco”. (Breakfast, Dinner) Your hotel will be Starhotel Ritz or Simular

Day 11 – Depart Milan, Italy

After breakfast, we say arrivederci as your Italian vacation comes to an end. (Breakfast)

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Motor coaches are fully air-conditioned everywhere while touring. No use of the motor coach other than as specified in the itinerary. One group airport transfer on arrival and departure.

Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary with inside visits (including admission charges) and special features shown in UPPER CASE in the tour description. Sightseeing with local guides where applicable.

The hotels provided for your custom tour quotation will be of similar quality to those listed.  Please note, no hotels are reserved at the time of quotation, therefore the hotel list is subject to change. Accommodations will be confirmed 45 days after receipt of deposit OR in November of the year prior to departure, whichever is the later date.

If for any reason we are unable to confirm a particular hotel within this timeline, we reserve the right to have additional time to confirm the hotel and may seek alternative accommodation. Accommodations will be provided in superior first-class hotels, or best available first-class.  Twin-bedded rooms with private bath or shower, based on double occupancy.  Hotel taxes, service charges, state and local taxes, porterage service for one piece of luggage per person, tips to baggage porters and hotel staff is all included in the tour prices. Groups must utilize a minimum of 10 hotel rooms.

Airfare, Airport taxes (where applicable), excess baggage, meals not included in attached itinerary, all items of a personal nature such as laundry, cleaning, telephone, internet, or fax expenses, beverages including tea and coffee (except at breakfast and at hotel dinners), wines, liquors, soft drinks, etc. Gratuities for the Tour Director, motor coach driver and local guides are not included and can be added for the entire group at your request. In some cases, gratuities for local guides cannot be included and must be paid while on tour. Airfare may be arranged with Bucket List Travel Tours.

PASSPORTS & VISAS

Passports must comply with immigration regulations.  Regulations may include, but are not limited to the following: must have at least 2 blank pages when entering a country and must have no less than 6 months before expiring. It is the responsibility of the traveler to check visa requirements and obtain visa(s).  Bucket List Travel Tours preferred visa provider is GenVisa. Per person price based on double occupancy: $3,424.00 
Price includes land tour, sightseeing, meals and accommodations as detailed in the itinerary, and the services of a professional Tour Director. Tour requires a minimum of 28 passengers. Early Bird Savings: Register by December 31, 2019 and save $200 per person
